CHINESE COOKING

Instructor: Esther Lai

Join Esther in the kitchen and learn the fine art of Chinese cooking, green onion cakes, spring rolls, wonton soup, dumplings, hot and sour soup, fried rice and much more. All you need to bring is an apron, appetite and $2 each class for supplies.

 

FIBRE ART STUDY GROUP

To date we have used transfer paints, shaving cream, card making, sandpaper, crayons, and beads, among others. Laurie Sobie will help us create some patchwork flowers, taken from antique quilts. There will be a different pattern for everyone there. Armande Jones will show us how she works with fabric and bleach to create an interesting shadow effect. Stephie Brand has offered to show us how she works with copper and manipulation of fabric. Mary Sustrik will lead you through the steps used to create a landscape, using paint, fabric and threads.

KNITTING WITH LORRAINE

Lorraine would enjoy teaching beginners, helping those who may be stuck with a pattern, or if you would like to be with fellow knitters to get going again, this is the class for you.

If you are a new beginner, please bring a 4.5 mm circular needle, 80 cm long and the yarn will be provided to get you started!

Join this amazing group of ladies who love getting together to quilt, sew and exchange new ideas! After lunch extra projects are worked on in the main lounge.

Centennial Quilt Wall Hanging
You may have noticed the quilt hanging in the dining room. This piece was designed and created by the Quilting and Sewing Group. The ladies of this group wanted to make or do something to celebrate Alberta’s 100th birthday and this quilt is the result.

Instructors from the Edmonton Weavers’ Guild prepare floor and table looms and offer instruction and guidance with a variety of projects such as scarves, rugs, blankets, place mats and more. All levels of expertise are welcome.

You will enjoy the atmosphere of the shop and the woodworking group—what a great bunch of fellas! The workshop is equipped with Saws, Lathe, Planer, Drill Press, Sanders, Scroll Saw, Router, and many smaller tools. Used materials and some supplies are available to create your own project – and one for the Centre!
